NH Research 9430-72 Regenerative 4-Quadrant AC Load

The highly sophisticated, current-regulated NHR 9430-72 Regenerative 4-Quadrant AC Load is made for effective and adaptable power testing applications. It supports frequencies from 30 Hz to 880 Hz and can work in single, split, or three-phase configurations. Its programmable input voltage range is 10 to 350 VRMS (L-N). The 9430 is perfect for testing UPS systems, inverters, AC sources, rectifiers, circuit breakers, and fuses since it can simulate both linear and non-linear loads. Selectable phase inputs and outputs on the gadget provide versatility when simulating intricate load circumstances.

Because of its regenerative qualities, less energy is used and additional cooling is not required because over 90% of the load power is returned to the facility's mains. When loading 480VRMS at 60Hz, its exceptional efficiency—rated at 92% at full power—ensures optimal performance with the least amount of energy loss. To further improve energy efficiency, the 9430 also enables power factor correction with a unity power factor larger than 99%.

To accommodate a wide range of testing circumstances, the NHR 9430 has multiple operating modes. The load draws a constant current when the load is in Constant Current (CC) mode and a fully resistive load when it is in Constant Resistance (CR) mode. It can simulate loads like switching power supply in Constant Power (CP) mode and handle both real and reactive power loads in Constant Apparent Power (CS) mode. The sophisticated HiVAR® design is appropriate for situations where reactive power can approach 2.6 times the genuine power since it allows for high reactive load testing without distorting true power.

The NHR 9430 offers user-defined waveforms, a graphical waveform editor, and macros to build intricate, repeatable test conditions for accurate waveform manipulation. Its integrated digitized measuring system ensures smooth integration into test setups without the need for extra equipment by enabling real-time study of voltage, current, power, and timing. With reduced power handling up to 50°C, the device's air-cooled architecture maintains performance at ambient temperatures as high as 35°C.
